Photos That Make The Best Portraits
You do not need a professional photoshoot. A clear phone photo can work beautifully. The better the photo, the more detail our artists can capture in your pet's final masterpiece.
What we love to see
Good photos
- Face is clear and in focus
- Photo is taken at your pet's eye level
- Both ears and the full head are visible
- Lighting is natural and not too dark
- No heavy filters or screenshots
Tricky Photos
- Blurry, pixelated or taken from far away
- Ears, face or top of head cropped off
- Pet is lying down at a very awkward angle
- Strong shadows hiding markings or eyes
- Filters, stickers or heavy editing over the face

Match the poster's angle
A front-facing photo suits a front-facing poster style. A side-facing photo suits a side-facing poster style. Not sure? Send it to us and we'll bark back with honest advice.
2
Keep floppy ears in frame
Long ears, fluffy cheeks, whiskers and little wonky details are part of every pet's personality. Try not to crop them out.

Phone photos are welcome
You do not need studio lighting. A clear mobile photo in daylight is usally perfect.
